Associate Job Opening at DeTorres and DeGeorge, LLC.

We are a well-established and respected law firm that specializes in family law matters, such as divorce, child custody, alimony, domestic violence, and adoption. We have been serving clients in the State of New Jersey for over 20 years, and we pride ourselves on our professionalism, integrity, and compassion.

We are looking for an associate who has 3-5 years of family law experience in NJ and who can handle a diverse caseload with minimal supervision. You will be responsible for drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents, conducting legal research and analysis, communicating with clients and opposing counsel, appearing in court and mediation sessions, and assisting senior attorneys with complex cases.

To be eligible for this position, you must have:

  • A J.D. degree from an accredited law school and a valid license to practice law in the State of New Jersey with an absence of disciplinary history.
  • Completion of all required CLE classes each year to remain in good standing with New Jersey Supreme Court rules.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with family law statutes, rules, and procedures in NJ and proficiency in using legal software and databases.

Join our team of experienced and dedicated family law professionals

Are you a paralegal with a passion for family law and a desire to work in a supportive and collaborative environment? If so, you might be the perfect candidate for our paralegal position at DeTorres and DeGeorge, LLC, a leading family law firm in New Jersey.

As a paralegal at D&D, you will assist our attorneys by providing clerical and research support services, including document preparation and review, interviewing clients and witnesses, and trial preparation. You will also interface with clients, manage attorney calendars, and file pleadings with the court. You will be expected to demonstrate professionalism, accuracy, and timeliness in your work, as well as adhere to our firm’s values and policies.

To qualify for this position, you must have a paralegal certificate from an accredited institution and at least two years of experience in family law. You must also have excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, as well as proficiency in various technology platforms. You will be evaluated based on your performance on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as client service, productivity, billable hours, and referrals. You will also have the opportunity to participate in professional development and community relations initiatives.
