Eyeglass Donations for the Dominican Republic

The health care needs of the people of the Dominican Republic are tremendous, especially in rural areas.  There are fewer than two physicians available per 1,000 persons nationally and the Dominican health care system struggles to meet the needs of poor women, adolescents and children under five.

We are collecting eyeglasses to be delivered to the people of the Dominican Republic by Rosanne DeTorres, in combined efforts with Handfuls of Hope, during a medical mission trip in mid-October. Handfuls of Hope will be providing those in need with eye exams and fitting them with the donated eyeglasses.

Donations can be shipped to, or dropped off in person, to our office located at 54 Old Hwy 22, Clinton NJ, 08809.

Nearly all types of eyeglasses are being collected: sunglasses (prescription or non-prescription), readers, or prescription eyeglasses.

DeTorres and DeGeorge Family Law would be happy to cover shipping costs for all donated eyeglasses shipped to our office. Please contact Anne@danddfamilylaw.com for a prepaid shipping label.

All donations must be received by October 16, 2023.
